Concept Ideas

Over the three years on this course I’ve enjoyed trying out different genres and aesthetics, my past two projects ‘love is real’ and ‘timothy winters’ are similar on an emotional level and with its general athletic look. After completing ‘love is real’ I felt like I had found my look and I wanted to expand this and push myself to the limit with ‘timothy winters’. I feel like I’ve proved to myself that I can create realism, I have a few ideas I could do, one called ‘cold coffee’ and another called ‘cinemas we ran in from the rain’ but they are too ambitious for a 15 week project and will remain in my mind for the future.

An audience with (unconfirmed title)

I’ve decided to go back to a previous idea which was going to be my minor; it’s a comedy/ musical. A man who wants to relax in his garden, enjoying the sunshine whilst playing guitar. As he begins playing, the man gets interrupted by a cat sitting on his fence, the man continues playing a bit more, looks up at the fence again and sees three cats on the fence, who are not impressed with his songs. Once more he begins playing but with a different tune, the three cats love it and begin to clap. The song progresses and before the man knows it, he has a mass audience of cats sitting applauding him, it turns stomp like showdown with cats playing instruments, dustbin lids, anything which make a sound. The animation ends on a twist. The man stands up for his thunderous applause and takes a bow, as he bows it turns out that the cats were keeping him occupied while other cats completely took over his house and stole all of his belongings and food.
